"Breathe is Life, Life is Yoga."

That's the tagline for OMPlace Studio, my favourite yoga studio!!! XD It's been too long since I did yoga - bad, bad Lin! Anyway, I decided that I've been doing too many long hours at work, leaving no room for me to pursue my other interests, yoga being one of them! :( So now, it's time to prioritise "me time"! So tonight's class was my official first day back at yoga, let's hope I can keep this up. I'm hoping that since I'll be on leave soon, it'll be easier for me to focus on "me time", hehe! Anyway, today's class was a bit tough for me, I haven't been doing any proper exercise for several months now, but I did the best I could, it was a good class. I can still do a headstand, a bit wobbly but at least, I managed! XD

Also, since I'm on the subject of yoga, let me just wish my yoga teacher, William and his lovely new wife, Jacky many CONGRATULATIONS on their wedding last Sunday! It was my first Chinese wedding, I enjoyed it tremendously! Thank you for inviting me!

Okay, time to say good night! Will try to update this blog more regularly, promise! ;)

Photos: Wedding of Zehra & Sehran

On May 3rd, we attended the wedding of Zehra, the daughter of Gülten (one of the embassy's local staff). The wedding is a mixture of Bulgarian and Turkish traditions, since Zehra is Bulgarian and her new husband, Sehran, was half Bulgarian and half Turkish, or so I've been informed. ;p The food was nice and the live music... well, I'm sure it was great, but because ever since the posting in Egypt, my mum has been watching lots of Middle Eastern music channels (and thus, torturing me at the same time!), I'm now a bit fed up with that type of music. It's the same as when my dad used to play country music every morning while driving me and my brother to school... and insanity, haha! However, I did overcome my slight sasakness later in the evening and went to dance a bit to Bulgarian music, hehe. Anyway, the wedding ended on a wonderful note for us! Oh yeah, I've been messing around with Picasa and created a collage, instead of posting the individual photos. What do you think? Should I keep doing this? It does make life a tad... well, more than a tad bit easier, hehe. Let me know! For now, tschusssssssssssss!

Photos: Stella's & Dermot's Wedding!

Last week on 15 March, two of my close friends, Stella & Dermot, finally tied the knot, and if I haven't said it enough, CONGRATULATIONS again, you two! Hope you both are enjoying the sun in the Carribean, heh! Thanks again, Stella, for asking me to be one of your bridesmaids, I hope I didn't do a bad job on the day, hehe. XD

Anyway, here are some photos from the day, courtesy of me, Gemma (the chief bridesmaid) and Gary (the unofficial photographer!):

Bride & Bridesmaid
Full-length view of our dresses! Actually, this is one of the few photos
which show the bridesmaids' dresses full-length! Anyway, this photo was taken
in Stella's parents' home in Powerstown.

After the ceremony
Left to right (at the altar of Powerstown Church):
Geoff (groomsman), Dave (best man), Dermot (the groom!!!),
Stella (the bride!!!), Gemma (chief bridesmaid), me (bridesmaid).

At dinner
The dinner and reception were held in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel.
Everyone agreed that the hotel handled the event very well, we were
all happy! XD The two photos before are of Stella's uncle Father Nicholas
(he performed the wedding ceremony), Stella's mum Jean, Dermot's mum
Eithne and Stella's dad Eddie, respectively. There's me and Gemma in the
next photo and then, finally, the special decoration on the desserts given to
the lovely married couple!

The cutting of the wedding cake
The cake was baked by Stella's mum, though the three tiers were iced
by someone else (not sure who!).

The first dance... and then...
Ah, the lovely couple's first dance, a waltz no less! Of course,
sometime near the end of the night, their metalhead personalities
started to appear! Rock! XD

Random photos
Just some photos taken throughout the night!

The morning after...
Photos taken in the lounge in the hotel.

So all in all, the whole wedding affair went fantastically, though most people felt so tired the next morning as it was a late night. ;D Anyway, I love weddings!

Photos: Nikah & Bersanding

Haha, no, I'm not the one getting married, though I know the first two photos make it look that way. ;D Actually, Meela's helping me with my tudong (head scarf) because... well, ummm, it's the first time in 10 years since I wore one!!! I know, shocking, isn't it?! Anyway, I had to wear one last month since Liza's and Eddie's nikah ceremony was being held in a mosque!

Anyway, Liza and Eddie got married on Nov 23 in the mosque near her house in Tutong. Meela and June came with me for both the nikah and bersanding ceremonies. The following photos were taken during and after the nikah ceremony.

The bersanding ceremony was held the next day in the evening at Asma Hotel in Jerudong. It had a sort of western theme to it, which is why the wedding costumes were white, or so I've been told. It was a lovely event, it's been a while since I went to a Bruneian Malay wedding.

Lastly, let me again give my warmest best wishes for the future to the married couple! Congratulations, guys! :D
