Watashi no kuruma! XD

Woo hoo! Yes, you guessed it, my new mode of transportation, hehe! So this is the news which I wanted to blog about yesterday. I just got the photos off June today. XD Anyway, my new baby is a Hyundai Accent 3-door a.k.a. Sport with manual transmission (a very important feature for me when it comes to cars!) and is Blue Onyx in colour! This is the first car I've ever owned and I love it!!! I've been driving it around a lot since I picked it up from Setia Motors yesterday morning (in wet weather and a traffic jam, just my luck, haha!). The fact that I'm driving a manual car seems to be doing wonders for my aching back and legs - weird, but very welcomed, indeed! Anyway, I was going to name my car, but I decided not to in the end, hehe!

Before I sign off, I also would like to wish my dad "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY"! He's off to Switzerland and Austria at the mo, lucky! I want to go to Austria!!! Anyway, love you lots, Dad!

Occasion: Message for Mummy!

Yeah, it's my mum's birthday today! Unfortunately, my bro and I weren't able to celebrate it with her this year since she and Dad are still in Germany! :( Anyway, hope she's having a brilliant day in Berlin, even though things are somewhat busy at the moment. Anyway, love you, Mummy! XD

Oh yeah, another good thing happened today, but I won't blog about it yet, hehe! Maybe tomorrow or the next day. Sorry for making everyone wait! I'm waiting to get the photos! ;D Anyway, catch you later!

Weekly Goals: Week 24 [2008]

Considering that I was extremely busy and jetlagged this week, I did pretty well achieving my weekly goals - 58%! :D Let's see how Week 24 will go... here's the list:

Fitness:
  • Monday: 1 hr treadmill [~330 calories; 5 km]
  • Tuesday: 1 hr treadmill [~330 calories; 5 km]
  • Thursday: 1 hr treadmill [X]
  • Saturday: 1 hr treadmill [X]
  • Sunday: 1 hr treadmill [X]
Miscellaneous:
  • Art: finish fanarts for Aesthetic Tribute Dec 2007 [X], Mar/Apr 2008 [X] & May/Jun 2008 [X]
  • Website: update ari-rin.com [X]; update deviantART site [X]; design haslin.net [X]
  • Domestic chores: organise temporary rooms [X]
  • Beauty Spa: manicure & pedicure
  • Purchases: new car; annual membership at Fitness Zone
  • Anime list: Hoshizora Kiseki (sci-fi drama) [so-so]; Hatenkou Yuugi (shoujo fantasy) [brilliant, but wished the series was longer!]; Fighting Beauty Wulong (shounen) [ugh, it was so boring, I fastforwarded through most of the 25 episodes!]
  • Reading list: book & documents on Health, Safety & Environment (factual) [X]
I might have to readjust the list of fitness goals since at the moment, it depends on Rozi whether or not I make it to the gym - she's bringing me there as a guest. I can't wait to get my membership and car sorted, then no pressure on Rozi anymore, hehe. Poor thing, she has plenty enough to do without having to bring me around constantly!

Brunei-based!

So yeah, touched down in Brunei at exactly 11.10 am today. All the way from Berlin to Brunei, the journey was uneventful and comfortable - of course, flying Business Class helped a lot, haha. I think it will a looong time before I get to travel in style. [sigh] Anyway, Aniki picked me up from the airport. I was exhausted, since I only got 2 1/2 hours sleep in Singapore, jetlagged. It's pretty late now as well, I should really go to bed or I'll be feeding my jetlagged condition. ;p

Anyway, I'm happy to be back - a lot of people believed that I'd probably end up living abroad, and for a long time, so did I, but lately, I'm feeling the need to return to my roots... I didn't use to be the homesick type, it really only started when I was in the middle of my Ph.D. Anyway, I don't know what the future has in store for me. I hope I can adapt to Brunei life again. Thinking about it, this August I would have been 14 years residing abroad! That's almost half my life, ack! O.O It amazes even me! Anyway, insyallah, things will move forward for me. I still feel like I'm stuck in limbo a little, but I have to be positive that I'll be able to get out of that situation soon. :)

So with that, I bid all farewell and in the usual Japanese greeting of a person arriving home... Tadaima! ;D

Singapore Shopping Spree!

Online at my hotel room in Singapore! Very swish, hehe! Anyway, I arrived in Singapore just after 6 am this morning, surprisingly not too jetlagged. It's one of the advantages of flying Business Class, haha (yes, I'm rubbing it in! ;p)! Anyway, the temperature in Singapore upon arrival was 26 deg C, which was lower than in Berlin, but I found it felt hotter in Singapore, could be the high humidity! :(

Anyway, intention in Singapore? Shopping, of course! Main attraction? Kinokuniya, haha! The biggest and bestest (I know, this is grammatically incorrect! ;p) bookstore in the whole entire universe (I think this could be erroneous, too, haha!). But anyway... I did most of my shopping in Kinokuniya, bought several manga, a book for Aniki, something cool for Rozi (not telling her. It's small but cool!), a recipe book for Aunty Linda (I wonder if I could bribe her to make me a cake with this... haha!) and something to read up on for a possible interview. Then I went upstairs to Art Friends (became a member for 10 SGD - I get 10% discount on all products!) and indulged myself by buying a 72-piece set of Copic Ciao markers! What an extravagance... but who knows when I'll be back in Singapore, so best to plan ahead, right?

I then had an early dinner at Sushi Tei in Takashimaya - wonderful! But not before I got some green tea ice cream and a cream cheese steamed cake! Then off to Far East Plaza beside my hotel to visit a small bookstore - got my romance fix, haha. And I also found something cool for Aniki (I hope it's cool... fingers crossed!). All in all, a VERY productive trip! XD

Right, time to say Tschuss! Bis Morgen, Brunei!!! xxx

Transit Talk!

Hehe, I just can't keep away from the interweb. I am currently sitting at a computer terminal, one of the few set up in the Business Lounge near Gate B44 of Frankfurt Airport! Before that, I was logged onto my laptop (bought credit from T-mobile). Now I managed to get a terminal with free interweb access, woo hoo! Anyway, I'm completely exhausted, didn't sleep at all last night, busy packing and cleaning and whatnot! I was really rushing this morning, didn't realise how much junk I had, haha! XD Anyway, I had to leave a few bits and pieces for my parents to pack up for me for the shipping containers! :( Vielen Dank, meine Mutter und mein Vater! [hug] Sorry for all the trouble! Right, that's my update for now. I'll probably post something once I'm in Singapore! Oh, one more thing, my cousin, Sarina, got engaged last Friday... Nynna! Tahniah to you and your tunang! XD Okay, tschuss for now!
